Threnody for a Tree

by Quiet Horn

This is a single 58 minute improvisation. The only editing after was for EQ and reverb and. It's the first album of mine that I am confident to call "ambient" in that it works perfectly if you leave it on in the background or while falling asleep yet is also interesting enough to pay attention and listen to.

I recorded it the same day tree trimmers took down a tree that sat outside my apartment window. The tree provided shelter and food for robins, juncos, and hummingbirds. I was sad to see it go, so I named the album after it.
